Pastor Dave Jenkins - Board Member

Dave lived in Uganda from 1993 to 2004 as a missionary.   He wasn’t a very good missionary, but Uganda was very gracious.   If Dave has any measure of wisdom it was learned from his grandparents and parents plus his years in East Africa.   While in Uganda Dave and his wife Jana hosted a popular radio show on Monitor FM.   Dave also was the basketball commissioner twice for Kampala Kids League and chaired the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association’s conflict resolution committee.

After leaving Uganda, Dave served in Rwanda from 2005 to 2012.   While there he started Christ’s Church of Rwanda and Kigali International Community School.   He also taught ethics at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology and wrote a popular column for Rwanda Focus newspaper. Dave has a masters degree from Abilene Christian University and the experience developed his love for Mexican food, nurturing the young, and creative teaching of the Bible.

Dave has lived in Chicagoland since 2012. Besides pastoring Nations Chapel Christian Church in Carol Stream Dave serves as a house parent at Jubilee Village (a transition home for single mothers ran by Outreach Community Ministries.) He also is interim pastoring at Lighthouse Fellowship in Huntley, Illinois.
